AVENUE Q and YSB – welcoming places for vulnerable youth

Over 11 nights in June at Ottawa’s Gladstone Theatre, the Toto Too Theatre presented Avenue Q, a three-time Tony winning, part-puppet, part-human musical that explored the journey of a young college grad new to New York City taking on life alongside his neighborhood friends. A musical comedy, Avenue Q addressed issues faced by many youth, and did so in a funny yet poignant way.

YSB was selected to be profiled during the show, and funds were collected to support our wide range of youth programs and services. The show raised an astounding $7753 for YSB! Thanks to Toto Too Theatre and the show’s audiences, these funds will support programs that address the needs of homeless and high-risk youth – as well as youth who identify as LGBTQ2 – at our Drop-In Centre, two Emergency Youth Shelters, and our Long-Term Housing locations.

We’re deeply grateful for this tremendous support, and for the message of inclusiveness that Avenue Q promotes. Thank you to the Toto Too Theatre production team, cast, musicians and audiences!
