The Board of Directors of the Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa (YSB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Larissa Silver as CEO. Effective Thursday, June 1, 2023, Ms. Silver will take over from YSB’s retiring Executive Director, Joanne Lowe.

Ms. Silver has been Associate Executive Director of YSB since January of 2020, and before that she served as Director of Community Services. She has provided outstanding leadership in severa

l organizational, local, provincial, and national initiatives that have and will continue to positively impact the lives of youth in Ottawa.

Ms. Silver brings to the role her 21 years’ experience of not-for-profit leadership with a proven track record of facilitating partnerships and generating results. She highly values youth partnership and youth self-determination. She is recognized as a strong leader among our funders, partners, and community colleagues.

“Larissa has proven herself as a strong co-leader over these last three years at YSB,” said Mike D’Amico, Chair of the YSB Board of Directors. “Her focus on empowering YSB’s clients, promoting accountability, and caring for our YSB team have been particularly noteworthy.”
